(kid) happy

MCA Minus Five, EARLY!!

Faith was in a huge bed when she woke up. An' she had her favorite frog pajamas on and her bestest friend Renee had slept over. An' her apartment walls were all crazy-fun polka dot colors. Wicked!

This meant today was gonna be awesome and she had to celebrate by jumpin' on the bed. And hopin' she didn't land on Renee.

(for the BFF!)

bored as hell

Minus Five MCA, Early Saturday Evening

Nothing to make a girl feel domesticated like staying in on a Saturday night and doing laundry. What was next, knitting? Cooking? Getting a bunch of cats?

Faith slid her key into the door, balancing the basket on her hip. This town better not declaw her, dammit. If she started prancing around like Holly Homemaker, someone better slap her.

Minus Five MCA, Thursday

Faith was seriously starting to like the perks of her job. Last week, after her shift bartending, she'd dragged home a guy who could dish out as much damage as she could, and they'd destroyed some of her furniture in a rather cheerful way. And this week? There was a severely hot badass chick in her bed, and there'd been drinking and groping and all sorts of interesting experiments with the mood-ring apartment deal. Who knew science was so kinky?

It was Thanksgiving. Great. Faith and Renee were gonna spend the holiday in an all-American, wholesome sort of way. With Chinese take-out, Jack Daniels, and lesbian sex. Just like Mom's apple pie, really, if your mom was the neighborhood tramp and the pie had angel dust in it.

Merry freakin' whatever.

Minus Five MCA, Sunday night

This color-changing apartment shit was fascinating. A couple days ago, Faith had slept in and spent the day in her pajamas watching trashy TV, and everything had been a kinda light blue color. Not bad. But she really liked the deep red best, which made sense, 'cause it seemed to show up whenever she felt great. Maybe it was some kinda feedback loop.

She was gonna have to try out angry and sad and bored and all the rest of 'em, sooner or later, just to see what would show up.

But not now, 'cause it was dark red and she was loving it.

Minus Five MCA, Late Wednesday Morning

So, this was her apartment. Not bad. It hadn't taken long to move her shit from the hotel - not like she had a lot, really - and she kinda liked living in the basement. Sub-basement. Whatever it was called.

She'd been in this town a week and she'd already gotten a job, found an apartment (and rented it from Xander, who wasn't her Xander, not that Xander had ever really been her Xander, except they'd done it once, and now she wondered if they ever had in his world, because this wasn't weird enough yet or anything) and completely freaked out at some guy who wasn't from her past and was dead anyway. Oh, and some cop found her record and was putting her on some bizarre form of parole. Fun.

Faith picked up her phone and dialed Dawnie, just to let her know she was in and settled and all that good stuff. She had a couple hours to kill until she needed to be anywhere, maybe she'd watch TV or whatever.

That's when she noticed it.

When she moved in, the apartment had had the same blah off-white-on-off-white standard coloring of normal apartments, and she'd been feeling kinda uncertain about the whole thing, and she'd totally forgot that Xander had said some crazy stuff about things changing colors.

Right now, she was actually feeling pretty great, thanks, and the carpeting and the walls and even the couch and shit were all this deep, rich reddish burgundy kinda color. Oxblood or maroon or whatever it was called, all complementary shades.

Faith grinned. "I think I'm gonna like this town."
